Do while working on a bed of nails jig for PCB's I got the following idea. Use the tips of these test probes to make a simple and very compact digitizer probe. Less than Ø40mm and 20mm heigh (excl shank and tip). I have a small 3040 cnc so a big 1/2" shank and 150mm long probe steals too much working space.

Currently the plan is three simple plastic parts, 9 test probe tips and two old 1/8" tools, one to fit in the spindle, and one to act as the tip. Oh, and i need to find a spring, yes.

Having the 6 lower probes just sitting in 1mm holes, easy to solder or even clip on wires to complete the circuit. Hopefully plans will turn into reality and see how well it works off paper, but currently machine needs some alignment. But figured I'd share the test probe in case i never get around to completing it.
