I would save your money, this is a novelty more than anything useful for anyone doing serious parts.
I bought one for reproducing parts for my 66 Chevy Van, 80 Fiat and other parts on my 3D Printer. While it did a great job of scanning and reproducing a model for human subjects, simple objects like a defroster vent or ash tray were more than it could handle. There is very little in the way of community support for this equipment. The software is horribly clumsy and gives very little in the way of editing the models.
I would save your $400... unless you want to just do head and shoulders of people or novelty items.
Here is a scan of my mom I did and printed out on my 3D Printer.
