    Hardmilling Ferro-tic

    Does anyone have experience hardmilling Ferro-tic? I am in need of some direction

    If you are referring to milling already heat treated material, I don't think it can be done. It's difficult to mill even before heat treating.

    Ferro-tic is usually machined to near net size because of the difficulty of grinding after hardening.

    Easymike29 is right on. Re-work after HT using a diamond wheel.

    I did some machining on this stuff. you have to machine it before you heat treat it. after heat treat it is like carbide. to machine you have to run a very sloooow RPM without coolant using carbide cutters. cut into the part or it will chip (like cast iron). I used to have some instructions for machining but I can't seem to find it right now. I'f your interested let me know and I will keep looking.
