It's waiting for something to load ... like a program or USB ... it could be as simple as a connection. Do the F8 ,,tap, tap, tap at startup .. then do safe mode. Go to Administrative tools/event manager ... check the logs to see what's hanging you up
It is stuck on the start up page. I just bought this mill and have yet to run it nd I went to turn it on and it wont boot up/. I don't know what to do at this point . it has Mach 3 on it and is part of my controller so taking it in is not an option.

Ok the safe mode hangs up as well . I can do the f8 thing and get to the menus but nothing seems to work . Would a XP reboot disk work?
It may help Try hitting Esc as it's loading ... if you can get a Blue screen it will tell you what's going on
Just for the heck of it swap memory slots
I'm assuming you have a desktop ... maybe your keyboard is failing
I can try another one . Worth a shot
Do you get to a "loading windows" screen, or does it hang in the bios?
Any messages on the screen?

this is what I get
How long have you left it like that? Try disabling audio and networking in the bios, and see anything changes?
Chance are, though, that some files are corrupt and you may not be able to recover.

Wow . Just WOW.
I have not even used it since I got it home. I had it turned on and that was it as I am waiting in my double pull breaker to come in. I am nit sure how to do the changes. I am a mill guy not a computer guy ( besides programming the mills.) I tried to leave it up for 15 min or so . I'm just disappointed right now .
If for some reason it is messed up what can I do to get it running again .
so I am really thinking that it id the hard drive that went do the way I shut it down FAIL now my question is if I were to get a new hard drive what all is involved in getting this thing up and running .
loading on a new version of mach 3 and setting up all the parameters ???
if anyone is local to Rochester Hills and knows what to install and how to do it LMK
It sounds like maybe one of you IO cards came loose in transport. Open the computer up and take each card out and put it back in along with the ram.
well I did have it powered up and mach 3 was up but my power was not hooked up to the mill. so I don't think they are loose but I will pull stuff out and plug it back in worth a shot
Quick rundown
Won't start in safe mode ..
Won't load in regular mode.
Removed the ram and re installed it .
Made sure all connections are tight .
No luck still stuck.
I may pull computer out and see if a shop can get it going
Unplug the cnc and see what happens it may be hanging on that.
If you have multiple ram simms, try using only one. Eliminates bad ram...
Make sure hard drive data cable is well seated. I have seen drives go bad if cable was only partially plugged in, but not always.
Will the system boot to CMOS settings screen? If yes, you can verify ram, video, hard drive..., are present. Then you know if it is software/hardware.
well the original owner and he was able to check the hard drive for me . ( after pulling the computer out and taking the hard drive to his shop ) Then coped the mach3 to a flash drive . Took the hard drive back home reinstalled it and tried starting it with only 1 ram in . Nothing still . tried a boot up disk I bought and it took me in loops. I went to buy a refurbished computer and just my luck I could the computer was a dud . looks like the only luck I have is bad luck at this point. so today I woke up at 4 am and went out to the garage and cleaned up some of my mess then plugged everything back in on the computer. the cpu fan was loose so I was going to buy another one for it . I went to work and then asked the owners brother if we still had any of the old computers collecting dust and sure as sh!t he game me 1 . so looking to start a rebuild today. I will try to use the old hard drive and go from there.
I would slave the hard drive and not change any files on it
so basically change them out ? with a patch cord ?
they don't have the same style plugs ?
