Default DeskProto 2D Operation - Not Sure Tool Path is Correct

I have setup a 2D operation for the final finishing operation.

However I am not sure that the toolpath is correct. It appears that it just stays on the surface. What can I check?

In the view options you can see the tool path.
Then you can check your segment settings If there is actually material to remove.

Have you correctly set the "Machining level" in the 2D Operation parameters (General tab) ?

Lex, that was the missing piece I needed. I am now expecting a good result.

    Thanks!

Looking closely at the graphic, it appears that the tool path goes through the bridge.

Do the 2D operations "see" the bridge?

    Hi Greg,
Sorry for the delayed response: normally I get an email when a new post is present here, however for some reason that did not work in this case.
The answer is a simple no: indeed the 2D operation does not see the 3D geometry. That brings the advantage that you can easily use a 2D toolpath to actually machine the results of the 3D toolpaths.
You can make a 2D operation see the 3D geometry by checking the option "Project 2D contour on 3D Part geometry" in the 2D Operation parameters, further see the Help button on that page.
    Lex.
