Not sure about touchscreen, Deskcnc does so much more than just machine control that I think you really need a mouse, unless you are using some other CAM program and just using Deskcnc as a G code interpreter, or just need a setup to do batches of the same parts over and ovar again.
I know Carken will do custom programming for you, an example software I guess it depends on what you are doing with it.
DeskCNC works great in Vista, I dont know about 7
Off-lease XP pro computers are so cheap now, with more than enough power to handle DeskCNC, CAD, Email, Photoshop and internet all at once, for under $200...
