    Got started

Printed out some of manual (only some cos I ran out of paper), and have now had a go. First impressions, the concept seemed a bit strange at first. I mean being able to create complex 3D tool paths from 2D info, odd. Although I have'nt as yet tried any 3D stuff only 2 1/2D the idea seems very workable.

    First hurdle.
I have a part to make it consists of a external closed contour made up of a number of lines marked No 1, works fine, within this there is a shallow pocket made up of lines and arcs marked No 2, works fine, within the pocket there are two circular pockets marked 3 and 4, it does'nt seem to recognise the circular pockets. What am I doing wrong. Also when cutting the circular pockets I want the cutter to Z down rapid to about 0.5mm above the bottom of pocket No2 and not start at Z0 how do I achieve this.

    I'll help

    Hi welderfabrod,

It's not clear, what you are trying to do here. Could you send me the DesignCAD file (.dcd) and the ContourCAM control file (.ctr), then I'll see what I can do to help.

    Please send to ph@magicsystems.com
