    Unhappy Maho 1000C/432 memory fault

    Hi
Is there anybody who knows reason for different memory faults (M2, M3, M60, System software failure, garbage on the display at power on etc?) on MAHO with Phillips 432 control. Are there any experience with this faults?

Sounds like you need to reload the machine constants.
When was the battery last changed? When the battery goes bad it dosn't have enough
power to keep the constants in memory.
Is your control a 432-9 or -10 ? The -9 controls have a switch in the electrics cabinet
to turn the constants disply on or off, sometimes that switch dosn't make contact the way it should and can give you the M60 error.
If you need to know more just ask.

    Thanks for replay, cncmm
It is probably most older 432 who exist (with software 6053/311 ; cpu 3380; ).
I succeed to reduce M errors significantly by cleaning connectors and all IC in bases. Remain just M60 sometime and I will check switch for this. Battery is good and constants are not changed.
But big problem sometime is changing "actual position” X axes at display without any operator command and without real move. Control have something like drift in digital area and then give X4 and X7 error or just blocking keyboard.
What are You think about that?

Have you entered the machine constants after you changed the battery.
Looking at the pictures you attached, this seems to be more then the battery and machine constants.

That looks to be a 432-9 control your running. You have to turn the machine constants on in the NC control cabinet. There are 2, sometimes 3 switches right next to each other, one switch is for the y axis brake the other is for the constants, they are well marked. Do you have a list of constants for your machine? do you know what version of software your running ?

looking at the message in that second picture you posted I think either your video card or cpu card or memory card has failed. You should also check the power supply output voltage. If my memory serves me correctly the voltages are +12, -12 +-.15 and +5 +-.02 It dose not sound like a power supply but out of tolerence voltages cause strange symptoms.

    hello,

    Hello, A few weeks ago i had a similar problem with a MAHO600 cnc432.
Only i still had some sense on the screen.
In my case the memory-card was defective. After a lot of searching i found a new one.
I assume you checked all the voltages on the power-supply.
And already cleaned the ic's, connectors and backplane?
If this isn't working you can try to start the control with only video, processor and memory card.
With the other cards extracted, after start-up you should see the I-0 on your screen.
If there is no change i'd guess the video-card is defective.

    Groeten,

    Jitze

Its a little cold here so i used an electric heater to warm up the electronics.
    an suddenly it worked!
    it started.

i also shaked the machine a little because i've moved it a bit, so it could also be the ic's that got their connection back.

i don't know what fixed it so i guess i still have got some ic cleaning to do.
because i dont think i'ts the temperature.

i haven't measured the voltage yet but i don't think that's the problem since it started now.
