Lithium backup battery on Fanuc 0M

How do I know if my servo drives need to replace batteries. I looked in a hurry on my electronic circuit board but can not find any battery holder. When you read in some books in terms of Fanuc 0M, there may be lithium batteries to keep the parameters of the motors and more. Anyone know more about this?

Not all om machines have absolute pulse coders on the axis, so it may not have one for the motors. Some had lithium batteries on the main board, some had d cell batteries in a box usually mounted to the electrical cabinet door, replaceable from the outside.

Thanks for the reply, so if I understand you correctly, it means that you have either lithium or R20 not both. I replaced the batteries this week 3xR20 and should be safe a few years now?
