    2000SY

The live tooling spindle locked up on me. I know the problem is in the bevel gears and bearing located in the turret. My problem is how do I set the gear position so this will not happen again.

    Orient the live tool

change Parameter 4077 S2 to alter the position of the live tool orientation

4077 S2 is not an accurate statement to my knowledge. They use a seperate parameter for this and the live tooling is actually consider S3 on the 2000Sy and 2500Sy. You will have to read through the parameter manaul to find the proper parameter or get back with me if still having trouble and i can look it up on a machine in the morning. You will have to adjust the parameter if you position is lost but you will also have to take the back cover of the turret off and make sure when aligned the air cylinder engages the belt driven pulley. You will be using i believe K6.0 to drive this cylinder when you extend the cylinder if aligned properly you will not see the pulley move. But you have to verify proper alignment of the driver to the clutch ring or you will not be able to change tools. This can be viewed by taking a couple covers off the front of turret. I believe doosan offers a alignment tool to ease the job but can be managed with out.

From the Daewoo "NC Programming for PUMA Turning Centers Equipped with Live Tools, Sub Spindle, Y-Axis" I believe MysticMonkey is correct.

    Tool Drive Orientation (M19 S3)

    Set Keep Relay 0.6 to a 1.
Using "Single Block" will move the Stopper Cylinder in/out.
Set #4077 S3 until Stopper Cylinder and detent are aligned.
Check that the Live Tooling drive is correct. If not you will have to adjust the cam with the Span Ring. Then repeat the above.
Find it, fix it, and leave it alone. But make sure you find it, make sure you fix it, before you leave it alone.

According to this (from Doosan), the live tool is S2, the subspindle is S3. Is this information incorrect?

    1st Spindle = S1 = C-Axis
    2nd Spindle = S2 = Rev. Tool
    3rd Spindle = S3 = B-Axis

Spindle Motor Orientation parameter = 4077
