Daewo index problem

I have a Daewo 200A lathe and the turret indexes and will spin around and not stop at the assigned station. Can anyone help me to trouble shoot this problem? I do have 24v to the encoder, is there a senor of valve that I missed. On a pervious posted thread, a member name Alan B. wrote that he had this problem and it would take a 2 hour repair to solve. I believe that the firing seq is: Unclamp, push turret forward, index to station, brake at station, release turret back, clamp turret. Did I miss anything?

Sounds like your encoder/encoder wiring is broken

its a 1997 Daewoo 200C. I have checked the encoder, it is reading the tool stations. The turret will unclamp, rotate, but will not stop at the assigned station. it will keep on spinning. any ideas?

Turret index

Thanks Meelian, I did have a broken wire to the encoder, 1LT wire that supplies the 24v power. Now I can see the stations signals on the dos page, #x30? but it does not decel and stop the turret, it keeps spinning, I get 56v and the hydro valves ( which I replaced new yesterday ). I am new at eletrical diagrams and learning how to read them. I think that the K31, K32, K33, K34 wirews to the hydro valve should be 100v, not 56v, Am I reading the chart correctly? I also get 56v on the 1LT line to the encoder. Could this be a problem? Thanks for your help.

are you getting all the encoder signals ?

I know you have checked the position but what about the parity

Silly things first

1) is it 110v AC or 24V DC? (sounds like ac 57v)
- if its ac then u defenitely have a short. Remove power wire going to selenoid and check for 110v. If its there 110v your problem is short in selenoid. If still 57v across wires measure top of contactor in electrical panel. If there measure bottom of contactor. If not on output side (bottom) = bad contactor and replace. If there is 110v on bottom side check for broken wire... run externall wire to selenoid to test off bottom contactor.
Allways start simple and move up stream...selenoid>contactor>relay>powersupply.
2) If power is ok get back well look at other possibility.

oops missed that lol

I also get 56v on the 1LT line to the encoder.

NOT POSSIBLE, 24vdc = 1Lt
please double check...if u need 1LT to selenoid u have wrong selenoid at 110vac, ya? For sure no encoder runs off 110vac 24vdc and or 5vdc only
hope this helps.

Talking check the simple things first

Hello Everybody that responded to this post. I found the problem. It was the relay in the back of the machine. Believe it or not I had changed the relay when I first started having problems with the index, but must of installed a used or defective relay. To anyone who may have this problem in the future here are the steps I took to repair the indexing. 1)Checked the dos page for the indexing positions, found no reading, 2) checked the 24v to the encoder, found broken wire and repaired and confirmed the readings on the dos page. 3) inspected the valve solenoids and replaced. $482.00 for set and saved old ones for emergency backup. (this machine runs 24/7 and its worth the investment) 4) changed the 4 relays in the eletricial panel at $2.50 each. Found them online at 10 pack for $25.00. That corrected the problem. I would like to thank all for you for your quick responds and help. For more info feel free to contact Lou Valadez or Austin Dean at Universal Machining Corp. 847-437-6778.
