    horizontal toolchanger.

    hi,
i am having toolchange trouble on a hc 400 horizontal 2 pallet bt40 machine
every so often during m6 the spindle tool doesnt come out but the collet is released, should the drawbar "push" the pullstud to break the taper or is it up to the atc arm to break the seal on the taper?
    cheers.
    wilko.

Yes there is usually two reasons this doesn't happen

    1. Incorrect pullstud length
    2. Incorrect Knockout adjustment *

*Inside the collet there is a bar that impacts the pullstud when you command tool unclamp

Generally this is adjusted at the top of the spindle

Can you manually jog through and continue tool change?
I have seen where nothing is wrong with unclamp however the tool in the waiting pot is not detected as clamped by the proximity sensor and the toolchanger will stop in the with the tool arm looking as if it cannot pull out the tool.
