If you're entering programs at the control, in EDIT mode, you key in the letter O, and up to 4 digits (0-9), and press the INSERT key.

O1001 - INSERT will create program #O1001 in the memory. You can they type in the blocks followed by an EOB ( and INSERT them.

If you're typing them offline (in Notepad, or some other text editor), your file should look like this:

O1001(PARTNO 1234 REV1 OP1) <-----comment is optional

Parameter 3204 bit 0 will change the "[" and "]" keys to "(" and ")". If you edit macros, you'll need the "[" and "]", however.

Parameter 3204 bit 2 will turn on the C-EXT soft keys, which will give you "(", ")", and "@" soft keys.

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN CHANGING PARAMETERS!!!!

In MDI, press OFFSET/SETTING then press the [SETING] soft key.

Move the cursor to PARAMETER WRITE =, type 1 and INPUT. You'll get a P/S100 alarm... ignore it.

Press the SYSTEM key, then the [PARAM] soft key.

Type 3204 then press the [NO. SRH] soft key.

You'll see a row of 8 0's or 1's (bits). Bit 7 is the left-most bit, and bit 0 is the right-most bit: ( 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 )

If you're never going to need to edit Macro's, change bit 0, otherwise, change bit 2.

Cursor > until the bit you want to change is highlighted. Type in the new value (0 or 1) and press INPUT.

Press OFFSET/SETTING and change PARAMETER WRITE = back to 0, then RESET the alarm.

If you changed bit 0, the "[" and "]" keys will now give you "(" and ")". If you changed bit 2, you should be able to press the > soft key while editing and see the [C-EXT] soft key. When you press this key, you'll get soft-keys for "(", ")" and "@".
