Daewoo EZ-Guide Work Offset Question.

Hi Guys,

I need a little help with Daewoo's EZ-Gude conversational sofware on a Daewoo 300 Lathe. We haven't had any training on it but we have figured out how to draw with it and convert the .cap file to nc code. The problem we are having is that EZ-Guide does not put a work offset of any kind in the nc code. Unless we have overlooked it, we haven't found an area within EZ-Guide to specify an offset to use. Is the software suppose to put an offset in the nc code, or is that something you manually put there after the code is generated? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Daewoo EZ-Guide Work Offset Question.

Your PUMA 300 probably uses the older "EZ-Guide" system, known as "FANUC Manual Guide". This system does not output work coordinate system commands. After excuting the G-code conversion process, you will have to add the G54 ~ G59 commands, manually.
There is a newer, more complex conversational programing system available that is referred to as: " FANUC Manual Guide-i ". DOOSAN (formerly DAEWOO) sells this system under the name "EZ-Guide-i " as an option with both, their turning and machining centers. This system uses a specially designed data input page that (among other items) asks the operator about the work coordinate system he wants to use.

It won't like disco said. If its the older version. You need to manually do it yourself. Under the work offsets page theres a measure soft key you have to manually jog the axis and input Z or X measure yourself.

Disco, We also have the newer version on our 4020 mill but I still manually input work offsets on the NC side. I never knew you could do it on this version.
