Daewoo DMV 3016 error No. 2079

Hello all,

Getting into CnC and was about to run a program. Went to load the tools into the magazine. Got the following error:

No. 2079 - Tool Magazine Syncrho Malfuction

Here's what I have: DMV 3016, with arm and ATC. Fanuc O-iMC Controller

The tool changer arm is not in it's original position. I ran through all the manuals and from the tidbits of information, I think it might be a proximity switch error? Basically, the arm is rotated and won't go back.

Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Don't quote me, but I think you need to climb on top of the machine and locate the ATC drive motor. There's probably a brake under the motor cover (looks like a paint can handle) which you can lift to release the motor brake. Then you can gently spin the motor fan to move the arm one way or the other back to it's home position. Don't forget to put the brake back on.

Sifan,

I see you beat me to it!! Lets give the brake a try, sounds like it might work (did this before on a different machine once) although I was hoping for a way to reset it in the controls somehow.
Thanks dcoupar.

Side Mounted Tool Changer Recovery

1. Restore Power (It is not necessary to Zero return the machine)
2. On the Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) box at the back of machine, set switch to
manual.
3. In MDI key in M39; and press the start button. (This starts maintenance mode and
allows you to use the 2 keys for rotating the tool magazine as jog keys for the tool
changing arm.)
4. Turn mode switch to JOG
If you have a tool in the spindle make sure that the tool is unclamped (Green light on). If not, manually press tool unclamp button.
5. Using the jog keys (on the ATC box) move the tool changer arm to home position (you will have to press the key several times). Carefully watch the tool that is being placed in the spindle. Once it is in position in the spindle manually press tool clamp before proceeding otherwise the tool will drop. Finish pressing the jog key until the arm is at home position.
6. Turn mode switch to MDI
7. In MDI key in M19; and press the start button (spindle orientation)
8. Key in M41 (will complete 1 complete tool change)
9. Set APC box back to Auto.
10. Check to make sure that you have the correct tool number in spindle before
continuing.
