Puma 8s turret grinding

Hi Guys

I have a 1995 Daewoo puma 8s with a 12 tool turret that is making a lot of grinding sounds when indexing. It seems to be worst going one direction. Have any of you had this problem and found what it was.

I would look at the hydraulic indexing motor in the turret housing first, then look at the pivot shaft next.

Directly under the turret is a bearing called a dry bearing. It gets full of chips and coolant and can cause the grinding sound and cause the turret to turn slower....so pull off the turret and give it a good cleaning and maybe a little neverseize good luck

It is behind the turret, this is a 1995 puma 8s

My 10 tool 8S had a horrible grinding noise, after pulling the thing to bits, it turned out to be a solenoid problem. The cavitation made the noise!
Also, changing the oil helps with turret indexing.
