Doosan 3016L

I am thinking about buying a doosan 3016L. Does anyone have any experience with this machine? Its for a small mold shop, going to have
to be a jack of all machining.(Aluminum, Soft steel, trodes, surfacing, drilling/tapping, roughing and finish pocketing.Tight tolerance at times+-.0002 Any info and experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a new machine and had it installed last week

Spindle through coolant, no chip conveyor though, has been running good the only bad thing I noticed is at certain rpm's we get a little belt whine but that's being picky.

you might find the door safety interlocks a pain but use a m250 to let you navigate inside with the spindle running.

Also like the table height no more bad backs,, we are thinking of putting our Fadals on risers also.

Is it the "L" linear ball ways or the box? What are you cutting? Do you think the "L" would be good for tool steel, like H-13 or P-20? I am very interested in your experience with this machine. I am thinking about buying one out of my own pocket so I want to make very sure I am not make a mistake.

In an Ideal world where money is no object. And if you were going to be pounding tool steel every day taking heavy cuts etc,,, box ways are the only way to go. But then again if that were the case a 50 taper machine would be in order (and that's what most mold shops have)

When I compared the daewoo to other brands the size of the linear guides surprised me (much larger than haas etc...) and the beefyness of the machine was a plus at 13,000 lbs for the doosan and 8000 for the haas.

Thanks for the info. I too noticed the weight difference.
I hope the whine does not get worse over time.
