    calibrate tool eye

we recently got a doosan s310n cnc lathe and i was wondering if any one could tell me how to calibrate the tool touch off eye. It has fanuc controls and i am not very familer with these controls i am guessing you need to change a parameter we have to offset our tools in z -.290 ever time we touch off a new tool.

That is a parameter. Contact Fanuc and they can get you the book you need.

Just curious why you have to offset your tools in Z? The G54 should establish your zero. How old is this machine? I don't recognize that model number.

We are used to using a hyundai hit 15s which has different controls. the sales man helped set us up as good as he could but i had to figure most of it out my self so we have been learning as we go. we know we are not using it to its fullest but its making parts just keep learning.

We dont know if we are doing our programs the right way or even setting our Z0 we figured out how to make it work. we use gibbs cam for our programing and use the same post procesor that we use for the hyundai we just have to go through and change g codes and the bar push and a few other things so we are very new to fanuc controls.
