5 pc run

ok. i made a post about offset shifting - i was confused. allow me to retort:

i need to make some washer type pieces. dims: 3.00" o.d. x .31 thick, then drilling a .766" dia. hole.

i want to drill deep enough to make 5 pieces.
then, i will use a b-bar to cut i.d. chamfers on each washer (.03 x 45°) on each end of each piece. this will be all in a finish pass - straight g-code programming. (\___/ \___/ \___/ \___/ \___/ - i.d. profile)

now, i want to part off all five, but first - i need to place a .06 x 45° on each side at the o.d. - opposite of above. i'm sure you guys don't need the artwork, but i wanna be sure.

my thoughts are coming in and doing a plunge on the o.d., then the right chamfer, the left chamfer, and part off #1.

then move my part length + part-off tool, same scenario as above - plunge, right, left and part-off #2, #3 etc....

so. the drill and i.d profile will be my main program. my sub program will be for the part off.

now, i call the sub, part off #1. do i shift w/ G52 Z-.435, then call the sub again?

then G52 Z-.870, call sub etc..... or. IS THERE AN EASIER WAY??????

You could use a G10 P? W-0.435 to incrementally shift your Z. Sorry but I don't know the P# for the Work Shift offset.

Wink

You should do sub program at increment dimension.
Just locate the tool and then call subprogram.
So for example (cutting)

T0909M08
G00G96X50.Z-20.S100F0.1
M98P0001
G00Z-40
M98P0001
ETC...

And subprogram:
O0001
G01U-2.
G00U2.
G00W-2.
G01U-2.W2.
G00U2
G00W2.
G01U-2.W-2.
G01U-48.
G00U50.
M98

Sorry about metric dimension but those inches just dont fit to me
