How do you find and change the sub-spindle barriers?

As I am sure you may already be aware, you can by-pass the interference zone by commanding an M110 prior to going into the zone. I do know how to shut them off, but don't know how to manipulate them to make them smaller. The system parameters 14910, 14911, and 14913 can all be changed to 0 to completely disable the interference zone. I would make note of the values in these parameters in case you ever want to turn them back on again.

The Doosan has a new problem. The slide covers for the B axis/sub-spindle have separated exposing the ball screw.

Has anyone come across this?

As an observation, the wipers on the slide covers look like a bear to install (if they can be replaced) new ones if needed.

Any suggestions?

I have an APC B & Y axis battery low voltage alarm after returning from the long weekend. We have them on order. I did try to home the machine, but couldn't complete the process. What should I expect when changing them? Will I lose any information (parameters, offset, ect.)? In the future is there anything that I could do so the batteries are not a problem?

Another problem. Sub-spindle coolant pump not working all the time when directed to do so. Anyone else have the same problem?

Some of the coolant pumps have backflow preventers in them. Check the spring and valve for chips.
The APC battery low will not loose your home positions; but if the battery does go dead then you will loose the home positions. You will not loose parameters. I'd suggest changing the battery while the machine is on.

How close can we reasonably expect the turret to be on a brand new, never crashed machine? This job has a number of different holes and some slots and pockets on the face of the part. Is there a way to compensate for this? I'm thinking if we use a live tool that measures .007 off center then the slot in the part will be off center too. Most of the stations are within .003, but that could be the tooling if they are off as much as the ones we measured.
Hi Crash

I have also got the same problem with a 2006 Doosan 2000sy with a Fanuc 18i-TB. The X axis live tools are +.0035 on 4 stations, but all drill blocks read X0.0 Y 0.0. how did you fix your doosan???

Talk to Eppinger and MD as they make most of the live tools. This is why you have a presetter and tool offsets.

Presetter works fine in the X an Z axis, but the problem is with the Y axis. So this is not what the presetter is for!!

Why do you need a presetter for Y?
