I want to connect netbook to machine with ethernet

Hi there, any help is appreciated. I want to link my netbook to my daewoo lynx 280 lathe with fanuc 21i tb control using freeFTPd.I want to use the ethernet connection not the RS 232. I dont want to drip feed programs only edit and backup. Any help on software and connection settings would be a great help, Many thanks in advance. regards.
