HI I need some help,

I have been operating my 8HC-3A with a chuck in both external and internal holding and with a standard J3 Collet nose. I have aquired and mounted a dead length Collet nose and now am having problems. I have the correct Mcodes to open and close the collet but seem to have lost somthing in how to set up the 2 switches mounted on the coolant catcher by the hydraulic cylinder. I have tried every which way to set these and yet the program will not run through the bar pull sequence.
The sequence worked just fine on the pull to close collet nose but this new one is push to close.
I press cycle start and the bar puller advances and engages the material and then stops. I have to fiddle with the switches and then the bar puller moves and stops after the move and the switches need to be messed with again.
Can someone please get me going int the right direction?
