Puma Mx series 2500 lst atc cycle problem

Ok, we got two Puma MX 2500 Lst machines in our shop, both been running about 1.5years, and they both got exact problem with their atc cycle. It doesnt happen everyday, or week, but rather seems to be about the tools we use in certain jobs.

The problem is, when the switcharm hits the tool on the upperspindle, and should swing it around to switch into the tool that's waiting in the pot behind it. The tool in the upper spindle isnt in its right position anymore, air/coolant/something has pushed it too far and the arm literally "misses" it causing m6 overtime alarm.

Im not sure about whats the problem, nor is the tech guys. since they've most likely switched every possible part already and the problem doesnt dissolve.

We, and the tech guys are totally clueless on this part, anything and everything could help, i dont know if the problem might be our programming, ie tools we use, or using toolthrough coolant wrong, or something, but since this doesnt happen on every job/week/day i doubt its the programming.

Theres few differences in our machines toolchange subprogram(not done by us, just older/newer), nothing fancy, one indexing less.

7 stops to this problem in last 24hours, if you would have any info/ideas about this, i could throw those to our tech guys, since im just machinist myself(whos losing mind due this problem).

Below is 2 pictures about upperspindle + when its stopped because of this problem. You can see clearly that the current tool on spindle has pushed too far due to unknown reason.

I know this may sound crazy but check the simple stuff first. Load tools in and out by hand watching the clamp and unclamp signals in the diagnostics. Also during tool changes monitor the ORAR signal in the spindle monitor screen to see that your spindle is maintaining the m19 state. I have seen this happen on machines if the spindle is twitching slightly causing the orar(orientation arrival) signal to flicker. However i do not have one of these machines we have the mazak integrex version but tool changers are often alot alike. The other thing i have had on Kiwa machines is wear in the gear box causing this. Most of the tool change gearboxes are made with a pair of roller balls that ride in grooves as the motor rotates and is actually what turns the double arm and also pulls the tool out of the spindle. Also are you getting any alarms. If so if i had a copy of the alarm and your ladder file i could open it up and see what is causing the alarm.

please tell me when the tool is clamped, what is the gap between te toolface and de milling spindle face.

take out the tool, measure in clamped position from the face of the milling spindle (grinded) to the front of the capto, this should read min 15.8mm

do the same only then push the unclamp button, and measure from front face of the spindle to same position at the capto, this should read 10.2mm +/- 0.2mm

Check hydrolic oil and pressure, check hydrolic lines, check solenoid valve

Check if parameter 152 is 26800 or more....

Check alingment of the atc arm, check gap of atc arm
