Douglas, our Apps Engineer, thinks there might be something in "how" it is being done.
He is prepping a presentation right now, could you post the program code so he can see it when he comes to reply?
set up a job today, have a live "z" end mill doing a trepan circle using x and y , indicated end mill in to zero, cut the part and the circle is off, cutting more on one side then the other? its in 6061 alum. head stock off, turret off, loose live tool holder, maybe backlash? any ideas? thanks.

Pos:
The reason for the lack of circularity accuracy is that you are at the end of Y axis travel and therefore the machine cannot quite "make it" through the whole contour of the part. Even in M110 interference check off mode the machine can't physically make it around the groove.
I recommend using G12.1 Polar Coordinate Function. This will overcome the physical limitations. I have examples if you need.

Doug, thanks for the reply, that sounds right, but after i seen that the circle was not centered I went to C "0" (the same place it cut the circle) with out taking the part out and checked to see where it was off in x and y then offset the x and y accordingly, the next part was good? Maybe I couldn't get it in with the "R" comp but was able to with the x and y offsets? even with the M110 on you would think the machine would alarm out if it was that close to the end of travel, but ? yes please send me examples of the G12.1 thank you all for the help!
