    Question Supported Formats on controller

    Hi All...

I am doing a survey regarding the types of program extensions which are supported by CNC Machine control { I refer to CAM programs which are transfered through IC Card or DNC }.
For Instance, a Mitsubhishi control will support *.prg extension as contrast to a FANC control which will supports a *.tap extension.

CAN ANYONE PROVIDE ME A DOCUMENTARY OR ANY RELATED INFORMATION ABOUT THE EXTENSIONS WITH ARE BEEN SUPPORTED IN CNC MACHINE CONTROL ?

    Thanks in Advance

    Ash

They are all just pure ASCii Text files.
Extensions are irrelevant, some Editors add a extension that is choosen by the person that wrote the code.
Fanuc controllers do not use a extension on Program files they use a numbering system.
