First of all I am a newbie. Recently aquired older Light Machines TMC 1000 mill and ProLight turning center with computers running on Windows 98 and MasterCam 8.1 loaded.

Problem 1: MasterCam dongle lost/stolen and it was parallel port type. I contacted them and can replace that but the new dongle is USB type and Windows 98 computer does not support that.

Problem 2: I could replace the 98 computers with USB port supported type but then Light Machines interface cards do not work. From early discussions with MasterCam and Light Machines sounds like $1,500 total for upgraded card/software/black box and new mastercam dongle.

Should I proceed in this direction or start over with Geco or something?
