D&M-4 Machining Center Upgrade!!!??

Hello Everyone, I have a D&M-4 Machining Center that needs to be upgraded. Has anyone done a retrofit or an upgrade of the drivers to run with windows.
I don't have the old controller card, so I need to start from scratch. The machine runs very nice manually but I need to be able to use it as a CNC and not a manual machine. any help will be very much appreciated.

Yes! I swapped out the electronics in mine for the Xylotex 4-axis package, but ANY of the available stepper drivers will run the D&M Sherline.
I changed the power supply and steppers as well, and added a relay control for the Puma spindle controller board.

Recently I burned out that Puma while attempting to add a CNC4PC C6 speed control, and replaced it with a KBIC.

What do ya want for the old stuff?

You might want to check your leadscrews to see if your Sherline is converted from an early manual model like mine was. The manual mills don't support the leadscrews in bearings, and I had some galling and backlash issues until I added bearings. I didn't want to lose any travel inside the D&M enclosure, so the Sherline CNC parts weren't an option.Check this thread!

That guy just posted a great video on converting a Sherline to CNC, and you can see the manual components, and the conversion parts, as well as a Xylotex driver in it's own enclosure.
