Hello all, I just bought a new computer to program at my machine. I have all the communications hardware, and parameters set for my editor to transfer to my machine. The Haas still wont acknowledge any communications from my computer. This diskette transfering is killing my productions. Any one walk me through this? Thanks Jeff |

| Is this a tried and proven cable from a previous setup? Always suspect the cable. Also, don't plug a com cable into a computer printer port. Just because the plug fits, doesn't mean its the right port ![]() Its always pin 2 and 3 that got to be checked or swapped over. See the Haas mill control book (xMcb.pdf) file from the Haas website, page93

| I dunno, its either the cables, the software settings or maybe a dead serial port. You are using the correct serial port on the Haas, the top one not the bottom one, IIRC? Are you using a laptop with a converter from USB? Those may not be reliable for a surefire test. If your computer has a real serial com port, make sure it is enabled in BIOS.

| Can you provide us with the details parameters at the CNC and PC? Also, you can get an RS232 line tester to verify you are using the correct comm port on the PC. Using a tester, you can punch from the CNC and see activity at 1 end; and then put the tester at the end of the cable to confirm data flow to the end. Call me if you need help 619-461-4000 Greg
