    Allen Bradley Series 8200 Controller

    It's knackered.

Does anyone know of anyone in the UK able to repair this beast?

By knackered I mean it's got power and all the little red lights show up on the boards, but nothing else happens, even the CRT screen is blank- there's power to it cos it goes a lighter shade of green and the main control panel has lights on it.

I've hears that Taylor hobson might do it, but they are very expensive and the bean counters here won't giveme that kind of cash.

Any advice gratefuly received. (I have all the manuals).

    ImanCarrot,
I have that control on my Hardinge Super Precision SuperSlant Lathe (its super )
When I first got the machine I was talking to the people at Hardinge for tool holders. They don't use AB anymore but were helpful in pointing out company's that work on them if I needed. But that is over in the states. Don't know if that might be the case with Hardinge UK

    Many thanks Kool,

I've checked their Web Site but got nothing on Allen Bradley stuff. I'll give them a phone and see how that pans out.

The difficulty now is how to ask them for a quote and NOT get them phoning back every day

    Thanks again!

    Thumbs up Bob

    Hi,

    Just spotted your problem.

Bit after the event but try SRS in Poole. You will find them if use a search engine.

They repair all sorts of Allen Bradley Controls and have loads of spares.

I support (and still write !!) software for older AB controls and work with them frequently.

Hope this helps (even if a bit belatedly).

    Bob
