| Hi I am looking for a third party source to get some CMOS batteries for some of our CNC equipment. Specifically a battery replacement for Yaskawa JZNC-GBA01 used in a Mazak using a Yasnac MX3 controller also A battery replacement for Fanuc A02B-0200-K102 used in a Star Swiss Lathe using Fanuc 18i-T controller Thanks in advance: confused: |

| It should be possible to produce battery packs with compatible specifications using off-the-shelf rechargable batteries from local sources. For instance, a Fagor 8025 CNC is almost 1:1 compatible with a cordless phone battery pack at 3.6V Ni-Cad. And yesterday I replaced the original AA Ni-Cad cells in a General Electric Mark Century ONE with Ni-Cad 'C' batteries and sockets from RadioShack so that if they fail again I won't have to solder. Basically all you have to do is match up battery chemistry, Voltage within +.1 volts of the original specifications, and meet or exceed the original current rating. It's not too complicated most of the time, the toughest part usually being figuring out if you should use a rechargable like NiCad or NiMH instead of Alkaline- the best way to do this is to switch on the control with no battery present, and check for the presence of a charging voltage on the battery connector. If you find one, then use a rechargable technology to reduce the risk of fire and take advantage of it to extend the battery life. I do know at work there is a Mazak VT-20 that has been refitted to use a pair of 'D' cell NiCad batteries for it's CMOS. |

I use a place in Willoughby, Ohio called Bulldog battery for all of my control battery needs. What they do not have they can make for you. They have made me several 3 volt packs for my Fanuc controls and one for my Mitsubishi control. http://www.bulldogbattery.com/ These guys are very helpful and knowlegeable.Hope that helps |
