Has anyone tried a Floppy drive adapter ?

I was wondering if anyone has tried a floppy drive adapter for older machines that only had floppy drives? I see where sony made adpters that plugged just like a floppy disk but used a smart card for the memory . This would be nice to increase the size of programs that our machines could run.

I have already replaced all the hard disks on our PC based machines with compact flash drives. This has speeded them up and improved reliability no end, I was also wondering if something similar would work for the floppies, particularly on some Prototrak machines we have.

I was looking at the flashpath adapters. Do they work?
