    Controler issues

    Hi

I need some assistance , I have an ARTISMAN S3404 CNC router which Arrived from China in March . I'm new to this sort of thing and have been working with it with many different degrees of success . Its when I try to give it complicated jobs that it seems to go wrong and missis steps as though it is just getting confused. I'm using ARTCAM to provide the drawings and then these are lodaed into the ARTISMAN control software on my PC this is then convereted to some unknown file format and transfered via COM port to the control tower and the machine is off , What i would like to know is as the Control tower has its own mini PC interface (dont know what to call it ) can I unplug it and plug it directly to MACH3 with out to much trouble
Have put a couple of pics below showing what I believe is the breakout board as it is a manufacture own afair

    .

    Many thanks JON

Ease of conversion probably comes down to what you have in the way of machine drawings?
Most likely you can run the same drives and motors if you know the termination details.
Probably need another break out board?
I don't think it is going to be as simple as 'Unplug it and plug Mach3 in' !

I would hazard a guess that the system you have uses quite a different communication system than Mach, I see there are a couple of RS485, CAN OPEN or Modbus interfaces?
It may require not much more than removing the present control unit and fitting a parallel port BOB to hook the drives into.

Any suggestions on the type of board I would need ? My inverteor is currently connected to the BOB via RJ45 plug , can I assume that is the new BOB has spindle control then would just need to remove plug and wire directly to ne BOB

It appears to be designed for the job?
What is the USB function? As it doesn't appear to be for the spindle control.
Sometimes the problem with ROC equipment is the support.

    More help Please

Not moved on much but have know recieved new breakout board and would like to double check I have the wiring configured for the Invertor ok . I have Hilighted below . Also I'm a little confused with the limit switches currently installed on the machine (pics below ) they work by passing over a magnet at the limit stop but not sure if there is a way of wiring them to my new BB or if I will need to change the switch type
