Request Help - PC to Controller

I have a NUM 750f controller and it's connected to a PC running Windows98.

We often cut a lot of 3D things and need to drip-feed our programs as the controller does not have much memory, some of our programs get up to 20mb.

Up until yesterday I used to be able to send the program from the PC (Using CNC Disk v2.0) and the program would wait until I tell the controller to accept the data.

However the PC has now started sending the program before I touch the CNC controller, and I cannot achieve drip-feeding programs. No settings or cables were touched to trigger this problem, so I am unsure where it could be.

The PC? The Cable? The controller?

The PC still detects if the controller is turned on or not, so I have a feeling it would be the controller for some reason. The RS232 chips in the controller are new and were changed a few hours before, and I was able to drip feed with them.

OK there are two methods of flow control. 1/ Hardware where a specific signal says 'ready or not'. 2/ Software where a specific set of data codes say 'ready or not'.

If your system uses method 1, then I'd suspect the cable. If it uses method 2 then some setting somewhere has been changed

It uses hardware, nothing was touched before it started this problem. We tried changing the cable to find the same problem. Just about to change some IC chips now, and I will keep updating.
