I've been trying to setup a motherboard to run Mach3.
I bought 4 or 5 motherboards , mainly ECS K7SOM of various model and revision.
I have downloaded on the official website all the drivers needed for each particular motherboard.
Is it best to install all driver even if they are not needed, I mean audio driver, lan driver and others that are not necessary to Mach3.
I have trouble with mouse using the CPU too much.
I open Mach3 and reduce the window to about half of the screen.
When moving the mouse over the desktop, CPU usage is about 2% but if I hover the mouse inside Mach3 window, CPU usage jump at 40% to 60%.
Mach version 3.043.022, all motherboard are P4 with CPU between 2.0Ghz and 2.8Ghz, 1 to 1.5 Gig or ram, no other software installed and fresh formatting and Windows XP SP3, no internet.
No difference if using PS2 or usb mouse
Try version 3.43.028.
No, I wouldn't install drivers for devices that you don't plan on using. They should also be disabled in the Bios. I also recommend disabling ACPI in the bios, prior to installing XP.
