rs232 usb and notebook

I can receive files on my notebook, but can't send any, no errors or messages, the port is open but nothing happens. any ideas? I have many diferent controls to try, but none of them work.

You might try a null cable adapter on the rs232 cable. I had to add one to my machine.

I will try it, do you know if maplin sells? or do you have the wiring scheme?
