I like the Gecko G540 since it is an all in one 4 axis controller and breakout board and seems fairly plug and play as where the keling requires some wiring to get everything all together. I also like that gecko is approximately five miles from my home and I am sure if things go completely wrong, I have a physical door to knock on for help. The price difference though, the keling, for a full setup with steppers is around 400. the Gecko setup would cost closer to 550 since I have to still by a power supply and steppers which will add around 250 to the 300 for the controller.
I would appreciate any pros and cons people can give me for both setups and would definitely like to hear from people who possibly have experience with both setups. I am at the point of purchasing my gear as my machine is progressing rather faster than I thought.

I only have experience with the Gecko G-251's, which are basically similar to the G-250's inside the G-540. I use a PMDX-122 BOB and run EMC2 and everyhting has been fairly easy to set up.
Based on what I have learned so far, what sets the Gecko's apart are mid-band resonance compensation and microstep to full-step morphing. The are also known for excellent customer service.
Hope this helps.
