I bought an old Techno-ISEL controller/router system and when I hooked it up to the computer, I got absolutely no response at all from it. I am now finding out that this was an old DOS controller and basically not useable with Mach2 or 3. I have another CNC router and controller that is a stepper system and just for laughs and giggles I hooked that controller up to the servo motores, and they at least hum when they are supposed to, but dont move. What is the difference between a servo motor controller and a stepper controller and is there any way I can make this stepper controller work with the servo system? Many thanks, Ken |

| That is a rather difficult question to answer in one post, especially without knowing what your present drive types are. Steppers have for the most part consisted of step/direction type, whereas servo can be +-10v analogue or digital, with the advent of programs like Mach that use step/dir control, there are servo drives now that accept step/direction control for this type of system.
