Hi, I need some information regarding Motion Control Cards, there are lots of
products availble over the Internet offering multi-axis DSP based motion
control cards.
Can anybody please help me select a card from PMD's Magellan-PCI series or
PCI-8174 or DMC5400 Motion Controller or PIC-SERVO Motion Control Board
or any other product of quality and reliability.
My primary concern is a mature product with lots of support over the web,
real-time feedback from machine, easy to program and control. It would also
be appreciated if the price is reasonable.
Thanks
it seems topic is not appropriate for the group. can anybody recommend me
an online community dealing with such cards/systems.
Zapper: thanks for info. please help me for more stuff about my query
Thanks
What is the application, how many axis, do you need clock and direction, analogue refference, or Bus control?
What feedback devices are you using, what resolution do you need?
if the application is complex, then it is best to contact a motion specialist in you country.

Hello Zapp... Thanks for the message, actually I am working on a design that shall work with the malfunctioned machine of different specs. I have plan to go for a solution that shall work for upto 4 axis but the software shall also run for 2 and 3 axis.
In the scenario I am working with is for used machines having dead controls or drives. My solution shall replace the already installed control panel with PC and new drives with non-workable drives if any.
Initially I'd be working with Bridgeport milling and an older version of EMCO Lathe.
Now for this purpose I need to start with a motion control card that shall work with a PC to control Motor Drives ( Initially +- 10v ), for this purpose I tried to search on the web and found some mature vendors, mentioned in my first message.
What I am looking for is an expert opinion to go ahead with a specific product.
The same motion control call shall be used for feedback. What feedback devices are you using
Its quite difficult to find such a specialist in this field.if the application is complex, then it is best to contact a motion specialist in you country
Thanks for bearing with me.
