UC100 upgrade made a huge difference, cool, but why ?

<sub>I spent hours trying to get my drives to function correctly. Could not get them over 35 IMP without stalling. Lots of noise and no torque at any setting. Steppers are good quality, drives are also popular and well rated. Performance pulled a vacuum.

I had always planed to drive the CNC with a notebook so I had a UC100 on hand. Decided to hook up the full size (but very old) PC using the USB to drive the BOB and WOW ! what a difference ! Running at around 70 IPM and super quite. Lots of torque also.

So I'm pretty satisfied with the end result, but I can't help but wonder why the parallel port had so much trouble running the BOB ?
