Help with Irda sensor on computer

I am currently having a problem sending files from my desktop computer to my laptop computer. The laptop sends files to the desktop without a problem but when I try to send a file from the desktop to the laptop I get a error message that reads: WIRELESS LINK ERROR File was not sent because an error occurred while link was sending file data to the other machine. The data is invalid. I have no idea what this is or how to fix it. Desktop computer is running Windows xp sp2. Laptop is running windows 98. clearly there is a problem with the windows xp machine.
