Need your help in order to send files to my burny 3.0: At this time I'm able to send files to it directly from short distance using a direct cable from my pc to the burny, about 15' long (using RS232 protocol) Now I need to send files from about 80'....so I tried using an RS232 to 485 converter at the computer, so this 485 signal is send over an utp cable, and at the other end another RS232 to 485 converter to get signal back to RS232 protocol.......everything looks ok at the converters cause I got the transmit and receive LED's signal's as it should...but the burny do not loaded any byte. I'm using the same configuration and converter with a peddinghaus machine and is working ok. for the burny I use BasicDNC software to send files.......any help |

| I have sent over 80ft on RS232, and incidentally this was to a Burny also. Use good quality shielded cable. It may be the handshake that is not correct? Al.

| I have not tried this long without the converters....with those converters is supposed to work up to 1.2 km. It worked with the same computer sending files to a peddinghaus machine with a fagor control.......don't know why is not working with the burny...... as said before to send cnc files to the burny we are using a BasicDNC software, coud it be any compatibility issue with this software and the converters? |

| Jumper the RTS-CTS (4&5) and DSR-CD-DTR (6,8&20) out on the Burny end. Use PROTCL-2 which is XON-XOFF, do not use PROTCL-1 which is RTS/CTS. Use only three wire cable between the PC and the Burny, on the burny end it will be 2,3,&7. You should have the Burny manual that outlines the Serial Protocol and presumably you know how to access the parameters etc, through the 'secret' button? Actually I misled, if you do not have the XON/XOFF then you HAVE to use CTS/RTS instead with full complement cable. Al.
