Print Server For sharing CNC & Relocating PC? While cleaning up around the shop (and tossing out things that had not been touched in YEARS) I came across a ‘HP JETDIRECT 170X’ External Print Server. As I still have a bunch of OLD PCs and software, (DOS, Windows For Workgroups 3.11, Win 95, 98, NT4, 2K), I just started wondering if this Print Server could be connected to a Parallel Port Stepper Controller. The Print Server is Ethernet in Parallel Out. The idea in concept might allow SHARING of the CNCed equipment. Might be a little CLUNKY, but if the output from TurboCNC, Mach (x), ???, were sent to the operating system’s parallel port redirector then to the Print Server. . . Anyone ever try this before?
