    Back lights for LCD Monitor

Can anyone give me a source to buy backlights for a "Benq" 17" monitor?

I took mine apart after it stopped working, no part numbers on the lights anywhere!
Tech help at Benq will only provide service to the unit as a whole, they will not sell just the part or even tell me what type/model it is, or where to get it from.......... .......********~~~~

    Thanks in advance

Are you sure it isn't the inverter feeding power to the backlights? Have you tried to search for the backlights based on the lcd screens part number? I have only worked with laptops, so I may be off base here. I just got a dell 1504 lcd monitor with a busted lcd. I'll be looking for a replacement screen soon myself....

Digi-Key sell JKL Components items, If you measure the lamp you have you can usually match it up with one of theirs.
You can carefully measure the output of the inverter if necessary, but it is usually 1000 to 1500v so take care.
Digi-Key prices are reasonable, they also sell JKL inverters. The JKL web site will give you more info.

if you need a backlight, log onto Lumenlab.com and post in the trading post there, we make projectors from 15" monitors and trow away the backlights all the time, when we strip the monitors just for the LCD and controllor board only.

Thanks for everyones replys.I'll check out the links.
I dont think it is the inverter??? as there is a very faint flicker only when the power is first turned on and then nothing. I could be wrong though
The lights do seem ok visually when looking at them, but I know that means nothing.
