I just recendly change internet provider. I was told I could still use my old email address or my new email address. I use OutLook on my home computer so the new email address was added there. My question is how can you keep the same email address with your old provider. In my case it was Embarq DSL I thougth once you left a internet provider your email address would change. When I receive a email I assumed that it went to a server like my old provider Embarq and now it would go to my new provider. I guess I have serveral questions on having different email addrresses. If for example if you have a email like. lrmerc4444@embarqmail.com and then go to lmercar@nc.rr.com how does the email get to your computer? Like I said I thought these two different email address would be on two different servers. |

| Once you left your previous provider, you can no longer retrieve email from that account. Basically, what you were told is not reality. I've had cable salesman say the same thing, but it's not true. Unless of course, you keep paying your previous provider.

| That is what I thought. I had them walk me through and set my Outlook to their email address. I guess my old email will end at the end of the month. I guess some people would say anything to get out of doing something that they know or should knows has to be done. |

| I don't know about that provider but with comcast (broadband) you can request a release of your email account and have it transfered over to another comcast account, but not to another provider. If you know someone that is still with your previous provider (relative or CLOSE friend) you may be able to save your account that way. |
