Newbie- in need of good reading material in regaurds building structural CF parts

ok guys, i'm a senior in college and I've just been assigned to my senior project. It looks like I'll be dealing with carbon fiber for the next year. Basically I've been assigned to build a climbing strap made from carbon fiber. In addition i need to design the manufacturing process using vacuum infusion process. I haven't yet met with the company we are doing this for so I don't know a whole lot more than that, but basically looking for good books/website/magazine articles/ ect that deal with building load bearing carbon fiber parts/ how to test them/ different manufacturing processes/ ect..

any direction would be great, thanks guys!

What do you mean by "climbing strap"?

When I hear strap, I think of a woven, flexible material along the lines of tie down straps, seat belts, race car harnesses, etc.

Can you clarify a bit please?

Well, that class is long over, but I'd still love to get more knowledge on structural composite design so i'll keep going here.

strap was the wrong word. it was more of a ridgid curved cantalever ladder step. think of like a "J" shapped ladder rung.
