    Titanium

I am a professional wood turner and need to get a skew made to my specks. Since I am going to spend the money I was interested in the edge holding ability of Titanium. www.turningaround.org

Titanium is a very strong material, but it doesn't hold an edge worth a damn. You are far better using one of the new super alloy steels, like CPM 30V. They are easier to work with than Ti, and are extremely strong. Cheaper too.

even if you could hold an edge with titanium ,it s not cheap stuff to be playing with , you d be able to buy a few chunks of decent tool steels for the price you'd pay for titanium ,t1 would probably do the trick , or d2 gets really hard with a little heat to it
i ve made a lot of chipper heads and blades for the wood mills and most blades were t1
