Anyone having experience with Aluminum 5086 H32 ; 5086 H111; 5083 H111 ? I need to quote parts with chamfers and tapped holes. Not much else. Cutting speeds/feeds appreciated. Any other info also appreciated Thanks, Franh |

| No familiarity with this specific aluminum, but I found this: http://www.suppliersonline.com/propertypages/5086.asp I hope that helps. It says that in the strain hardened tempers (H value) the machining is good. I looks like interesting material. Scott

| Alot depends on the cutter size and type. Need to use an al cutter 3 flute works great. Speeds and feeds depend on cutter size, material setup, final finish, dry / wet, etc. Any more details you can supply would help. If you are just drilling it and adding a counter sink and have experence with any 2 or 6 thousand series aluminum and you should be close. |
