We are a CNC shop. We are making parts from G-11 stock. All surfaces are being machined not just periphery cuts.
When machining the flat surfaces (X Y plane) you can see color differences where you are cutting laminate and the epoxy. It's contrasting. Customer not real happy. Are we doing something wrong ?
We are using PCD for roughing/hogging. Holds up very well (expensive).
We are using an amorphous diamond endmill for all remaining finishing work as they have a sharper cutting edge especially at the corner of the endmill.
The exterior surfaces of the part need to be good in appearance as it is exposed to the eye and is preferred good looking .
We would like to get a consistent finish/color but are experiencing failure in all the different cutting tools we have tried. Is there a special cutter or geometry for that ?
