Yeah, I'm right here at home and my entire kit has been delivered. I'll wait till you guys get back to get started. ..........Don't hold your breath though.

I have to say that Nema 17's are so cute. Just a little bigger than a golf ball.

Waiting on the next installment, Hoss. Your first video showed me I should cut my rod to 16" rather than 15.5, like is recommended. Haven't cut anything yet, but once these guys get back...........maybe sooner.

Those other 2 are doing the seemecnc kit, I'm doing the reprap prusa right now.
Thought that's what you were doing too.
I got little odds and ends done like connectors on all the wires, hot end installed, heated bed installed and a firmware loaded onto the arduino.
Time to put power to it and see what happens.

I do have the Prusa, Hoss. I was just neener neenering a bit. Putting off the build of a printer for something like a VACATION SKIING. I think that is a bigger neener. I love snow skiing. My sister goes out there every year, but I haven't been able to.

Love to see this one printing. Anxiously awaiting the video, Hoss.

I guess I shouldn't say that Steamboat Springs got 3 feet of powder in the last week then!

I downloaded all of the construction documents to my iPad so I'll have something to read on the flights and après-ski. Meanwhile, my G0704 is coming together nicely. Almost have the new treadmill motor mounted.

    Cheers,

Getting closer, I was worried my soldering job screwed the pooch because nothing worked.
Turns out I had 1 number off in the firmware config and now I have movement.
All the recommendations say sprinter firmware was easiest to load onto the arduino but all I got was errors.
Found Marlin which is very similar and has the SDcard suport among other things.
    http://reprap.org/wiki/Firmware
    Worked first try.
Once I got that configged and loaded next came trying to get the software to recognize the printer.
Repsnapper couldn't, ReplicatorG kinda works, but Pronterface worked the first time.

So finally up and running, steppers all move, the hot end heats up and the extruder works (kinda, have to rehob my bolt)
Next to get it all calibrated and try to make something.

I'm thinking about using one of these to print the parts I need to do Hoss's X2 CNC conversion. :-)

Anyone have links for a different extruder? The Wade's I received are non contendre. They ain't happenin. I ordered two. Had enough parts for one, but was way out of spec. I thought buying a kit saved me some of this hassel, but looks like I may have to tackle this myself. Just fair warning, guys.
The kit I bought is incomplete and the second kit does not even go together correctly.
Where can I buy a different type extruder for these?

Where did you get your kit?
The Plastruder from makergear looks excellent.

Take a couple of pictures and make them send you two more good kits.
No sense in throwing good money away.

My SeeMeCNC H-1 full kit arrived today in good order. I got the bearing upgrade too. Peeked in the box but since I am leaving tomorrow to head to CO to ski, no sense opening packages today. I'll start a build thread when I get back.

I also got my Gen6 board from MakerFarm and spent some time hooking it up to my Mac and going through programming and uploading. Turns out there are a rash of recent posts on the RepRap forums about guys having problems connecting to various Gen6 boards, I think from Linux. The symptom is identical for me. The software versions are all a few versions back that were verified to work. I'm not dependent on the the Gen6 since I'll be using Mach with my H-1 and have a parallel port interface but I wanted to play around with the Arduino hardware a bit too.

    cheers,
    Michael
