I would "hope" the 2000+ range would yield a stouter machine. You won't need a really high HP spindle, the Bosch Colt will more than likely do anything you have described so far. If you can swing a nice all aluminum frame, with a decent Z height, you should be all set. I can't recommend anything specific, as I haven't been looking for them. My next step from the Fireball will be either a used Knee Mill that I will CNC myself, or a Tormach, or something like that. I am also looking in to a huge ground up servo powered "router" - like 6' x 6' x 3-4' - to machine some large blocks of foam. The blocks will be a pattern for making some larger pieces ; ) |
